Yuvraj:: I will show I can bat well against quality spinners Yuvraj Singh, whose first name is Hindi for prince, has played fewer than 10 one-day internationals. But he is already one of the main batsmen in the Indian team. He is an exceptional fielder too. How is the 20-year-old coping with this all this? He spoke to Sunil Narula exclusively during the Coca-Cola Champions Trophy in Sharjah. The expectations are so high everytime you go in to bat. Does that put too much pressure on you? Not too much. I want to get runs everytime. My skipper Sourav Ganguly has a lot of faith in me. He has told me not to curb my natural style, which is to go for my shots. He wants me to play naturally. I also realize that it's not so much as playing the aerial shots than picking the gaps that matters. I have to do that better. Now, some can say I should wait a little before going for my shots. That would give me a better chance. It is something I have to sort out, surely. Some say they found you struggling against Muralitharan. Do you agree? Yes, I have read these articles about my being suspect to quality spinners. I really don't think so. I just got out early, so I don't know much. Give me a chance. I will show I can bat well against quality spinners as well. You have been rated a tremendous fielder. What do you do for your fielding? I specialize in fielding at point. Which suits me, since I'm a natural left-hander. I can dive and go to my natural side quickly. I also train a lot and work on fitness. Running, in the gym, just about everything. People are comparing you with Sachin. What do you have to say? It's a most unfair comparison. Sachin is just great. In fact, he is my idol. I have a long way to go still. You gave a terrific account of yourself against the world's best fast bowlers -- Brett Lee, Glen McGarth and Alan Donald in Nairobi. How did it feel? It was a great feeling to be able to hit them. The wicket, no doubt, was very good for batting. But, still, you have to back yourself. I knew I could hit them. That's how it is. I always try to remain positive.
